Solar Baked Brownies
Brownies are a classic treat that almost everyone loves. It’s easy to buy a boxed mix, stir it up, pop it in the oven, and have hot, homemade brownies in half an hour. But it is also very easy to stir up the brownies from scratch. Most of the ingredients are already in your kitchen. So on a hot summer day, try this recipe. You’ll surprise everyone with a delicious dessert. And the best thing is that you will not have heated up your kitchen.
Solar Baked Brownies.
- 2 cups white sugar
- 1 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup walnut or pecan pieces (opt)
Pre-heat the solar oven while mixing the ingredients. (Be sure your brownie pan fits in your oven. Otherwise, you may need to adjust this recipe for the size of your pan)
Melt the butter or margarine in the solar oven. When melted, add the other ingredients and mix well. Bake in heated solar oven about 1 1/2 hours or until pick comes out clean.
(For regular oven, bake at 350 degrees F for 20 to 30 minutes in a 9 x 13 inch greased pan).
