Hawaiian Pork

Hawaiian Pork with rice

Hawaiian Pork

Today was a beautiful day, clear and sunny with a high temperature of  70 degrees.  The GSO reached an internal temperature of 300 degrees.  But the Sport, sitting right next to it, reached a temperature of 325 degrees (with reflectors).

Today I made a very simple Hawaiian Pork in the GSO.

  • 11/2  lbs cubed pork sirloin or pork roast
  • 1 (20oz) can pineapple chunks, including juice
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce

Pre-heat solar oven while preparing recipe.

Mix pineapple, brown sugar, and soy sauce in granite ware pot.  Add cubed pork.  Place in solar oven.  Cook for 4 -5 hours, depending on temperature of oven.  Serve over hot rice.
