Grandkids and Solar Cooking
Just got back from spending a week’s vacation with (some of) my grandkids. The days were sunshiny and bright. I just had to do some solar cooking. So we made a very simple solar cooker out of a reflective car sun screen. This type of cooker is certainly not as efficient as other cookers, but it made a hit with the kids and it did get the job done. The first day we baked a cake, and the next day we made beef stroganoff for supper. That day, the sun kept playing hide and seek with the clouds, then all of a sudden it clouded up and I just barely got it in before the rain hit. However, it was done and it was good and the kids were impressed that the sun could cook dinner.
